Court's in session. Today's case is not about a crime somebody committed. It is about a crime somebody invented, and then used the government to carry out. Someone picked up a phone, lied to child protective services, and got a father pulled away from his four-year-old twins. Let's read the file.

Here is the charge. An anonymous caller told CPS that Pete Buttigieg's children were in danger. The supposed evidence? That some unnamed woman said he had confessed, at a conference in Alabama, to violent crimes. He has never set foot in the town. None of it was real. But being real was never the point of a hoax like this. The machinery is the point.

Exhibit A. What an anonymous lie actually buys. Police and CPS arrive at your home. You are told you may not be alone with your own kids. Your four-year-olds are walked into forensic interviews. And for about twenty-four hours, a father is separated from his children, on the word of a caller nobody can name. He called it, quote, among the darkest hours of my life.

Now the cross-examination. Did the system find anything at all? No. The police said the report was false. They described it as politically motivated, and they would not even refer it to prosecutors. Child protective services substantiated nothing, because there was nothing. A whole armed, official response, built on a sentence somebody made up.

And tonight there is no name, no charge, and no consequence for the person who did it.

Here is the verdict. A lie is not speech. It is a weapon the moment you aim it through the government. We can hold two things at once, protect children for real, and prosecute the people who fake it to terrorize a family.
