At 12:05 in the afternoon, local time, on July 18, a four-stage rocket called Vikram-1 lifted off from Sriharikota. By 17 minutes into the flight it had met every performance target its builders had set [1].

The company is Skyroot Aerospace, based in Hyderabad, and the flight - 'Mission Aagaman' - makes India the third nation with a private company able to reach orbit [1].

The payload capacity is a little over 770 pounds, and the customers aboard the first flight came from Germany and India: DCUBED, Grahaa Space and Cosmoserve Space [1]. One of the satellites is called Embrace, a robotic drone built to remove debris from orbit [1].
