Russia attacked Ukraine overnight into 15 August with 152 Shahed-type drones and loitering munitions, of which Ukraine's air force says it intercepted 124. The day's injuries ran across six regions: 28 in Kherson, 11 in Dnipropetrovsk, four in Sumy, three in Kharkiv, two in Zaporizhzhia and one in Donetsk, 49 wounded in all. [1]
Ukraine's answer reached deep into Russia. President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian forces struck the Savasleyka military airbase and hit a Roscosmos facility with Flamingo missiles, claims attributed to him and not independently confirmed in this reporting. [1] Separately, Reuters reported that Russia had suspended crude loadings at the Sheskharis oil terminal in Novorossiysk, one of its main Black Sea export facilities at around 700,000 barrels per day, after a Ukrainian drone attack on 12 August.
